Stunning Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase with Flower and Bird - Signed by Miwa

As part of our relentless pursuit to obtain examples of signed or marked Japanese cloisonne enameled works, we search through thousands of antique shops, dealers, indoor and outdoor shows, international auction houses, internet sellers, private collectors; and our search continues.
Here is a rare Japanese cloisonne enamel vase in the traditional technique (yusen shippo) design of a large flower blossom and a whimsical bird.
This vase is signed by the elusive but incredibly talented artist, Miwa Tomisaburo. Not surprisingly, the very few examples that can be found on the internet yield very commanding auction results for this gifted artist.
The highlight of the vase are the many sculpted wires used to depict the veins in the leaves.
The bottom base is impressed with the hiragana character “Mi,” within a cherry blossom shaped outline representing the Miwa trademark.
The vase is finished in a wonderful jet black enameled ground in high polish.
A “so-called” specialist on Japanese cloisonne enamels, states, “I consider the use of sculpted wires to be the highest achievement in cloisonne enamel, and I believe that it reflects an unequalled refinement.”

Overall, an exceptional vase in excellent condition with a very beautiful flower blossom and fanciful bird.
The only condition issues are a small abrasion along the interior of a leaf near the top of the vase and a tiny scuff the near the back of the bird.
This vase will be double boxed and packed with tremendous care.
This vase will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail with insurance to confirmed addresses within the United States.  We currently cannot ship overseas or make international deliveries at this time due to large size and weight of this vase.  International buyers utilizing US based freight forwarding shipping companies are requested to refrain from purchasing at this time.
